Hajime Segawa will be ending his Ga-Rei manga in the March issue of Kadokawa Shoten's Monthly Shonen Ace magazine.
Segawa will also have a three-page preview of his latest manga, Tokyo ESP, in the same issue.
Ga-Rei tells the story of Nimura Kensuke, who has the ability to see ghosts. His life changes when he meets Kagura, a girl with the power to summon a "Ga-Rei" called Byakuei. The two work together to find evil spirits and devour them with the Ga-Rei under the auspices of the Ministry of the Environment's Supernatural Countermeasure Division. It has since spawned a prequel anime, Ga-Rei -Zero- and a spinoff manga, Ga-Rei Tsuina no Shō.
Thoughts: I really enjoyed the anime, especially how it began (saying any more will be a spoiler...). This led me to the manga which I enjoyed tremendously as well. Considering the current arc in the manga, I guess it would make sense having it as a finale. Hopefully, they'll have a second season of the anime as well...
